TWO TUNING MODES

Instrument mode shows the target notes for your chosen tuning, such as EADGBE for standard guitar, DADGBE for drop D or GDAE for violin. Play a string and Pitched shows you whether it’s in tune.

Chromatic mode detects the nearest note to whatever you play. Use it for voice, alternate tunings and instruments beyond the built-in presets.

BUILT-IN TUNINGS

Choose from tunings for guitar, bass, double bass, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, banjo and mandolin, plus concert A for orchestral and band instruments.

Options include standard, drop D and open G guitar; 7-, 8- and 12-string guitar; requinto; 4-, 5- and 6-string bass; 4- and 5-string double bass; and C, D, low G and baritone ukulele.

PITCH PIPE AND CHORDS

Play a reference note or chord to tune by ear or practise listening. Choose a pure sine tone or simulated piano, guitar or clarinet.

TRANSPOSING INSTRUMENTS

Set the transposition for your instrument so you can read written pitch while playing. Options include B-flat trumpet and clarinet, E-flat saxophone, F horn and A clarinet.

REFERENCE PITCH AND TEMPERAMENTS

Adjust the reference pitch from the standard 440 Hz to suit your ensemble — for example, 415 Hz for baroque music or 442–443 Hz for orchestral playing.

Pro adds historical and just temperaments, including Pythagorean, meantone, Werckmeister III, Kirnberger III, Vallotti, Young II and Kellner, plus the option to create your own.
