DrivePlus is our affordable telematics insurance policy, designed to help young drivers get on the road. The app monitors your driving via GPS on your smartphone and enables you to keep track of your driving score, while also providing feedback to help you become a smarter, safer driver.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, you will need to register using the details used to purchase your policy. Terms and conditions apply.
This app is for Direct Line DrivePlus customers with app-only Telematics. It won’t work if you have a Box fitted in your car. If you have a Box you will need to download our Plug-in App.

Awful, it doesn't take into account the speed limits in place, so marks you down for "speeding" when doing 60 in a 70, will tell you "the roads you use are dangerous" but not which ones, won't reduce your next quote (went up by 200 despite a score of 86). The kicker? Doesn't seem to be linked to my account! I cancelled my policy, the app continued tracking and once deleted I received an email warning me to track trips or risk voiding my policy. If you want cheaper insurance, just go elsewhere.

I have had issues with this app for months. I got told it was my Samsung phone that was the issue (due to sat nav signals) and there was nothing they could do. So much so my car insurance went up £200 for this year! I have now switched to Hastings Direct (£300 cheaper) and already my driving score is 100/100. Do not use DrivePlus! It does not work and is a complete waste of time!

The idea of this app is cool, but the execution of it is awful. After the last major update about 4 weeks ago I haven't changed how I drive or anything yet the app has gone from giving me a score of about 70-80 to giving me a score of 30-40, even though nothing has changed apart from I recently started driving at night due to work, which I get marked down for.
