CatchTrail Fishing Journal

CatchTrail is a fishing journal. Pick the fish and tap Save; the time, the spot and the weather are filled in for you. Add a photo, a video, the bait or a note when you want to.

LOGGING ON THE WATER
• Most-caught species first, or A–Z, or fish seen near you (iNaturalist)
• "1 h ago", "Yesterday" and the phone's own date and time pickers, or the time the photo was taken
• Repeat your last catch at your current spot
• Length and weight in inches, lb and oz, or metric; released or kept; depth, water temperature, clarity and current
• Unsaved catches are kept if you switch apps or the phone closes CatchTrail

MAPS AND PLACES
• Satellite map with place labels, plain satellite, or a street map
• Every catch on the map, with filters for species, place, technique, year and month
• Save your spots and lakes; catches inside a saved place get its name
• Adjust a spot by dragging the pin, or find a lake or town by name

YOUR JOURNAL
• Search species, places, techniques and notes
• Insights by year: top species, your biggest fish of each species, the months and times of day you catch fish, your best places and techniques
• Moon phase, sunrise and sunset for every catch
• Pictures of 87 North American species built in, with Wikipedia descriptions when online
• Share a catch with its photo; the photo is sent without its location data and the spot is included only if you choose
• Home-screen widgets for quick logging

BACKUPS AND MOVING FROM FISHNET
• Back up the whole journal, photos and videos included, to one file in any folder or cloud drive, and restore it on a new phone
• Android device backup keeps your journal with your Google account
• Export a spreadsheet (CSV) or your places (GPX)
• Import FishNet (My Fishing Journal): catches, saved places, your own species and techniques, and photos

PRIVACY

FREE VERSION AND PLUS
The free version keeps 7 catches and shows a small banner ad. A short optional ad adds 3 more catches. CatchTrail Plus removes the limit and the ads; it is a yearly subscription billed through Google Play that renews until you cancel. Google Play shows your price before you buy. Restore or manage Plus in Settings.
