You’re better off using your own debit or credit card. In my experience, you get far more buyer protection than with PayPal, which I found offered very little protection when I needed it. There’s also no live person to speak to when something goes wrong—everything is automated, and I found the system unreliable. I used PayPal for many years, but after my experiences with them, I eventually closed my account and will never use PayPal again.

I used to really like this app, but since they have made various "improvements" I find it hard to navigate. It took me ages to find my list of payments after one update. I also don't like their reward points system (if you have chosen to sign up). It's very inconsistent and takes forever to get enough worth redeeming. I think PayPal are trying to hard. They need to stop all the fancy updates and put a person on the end of the phone instead of a useless AI chat bot.

Frustrating - latest update has killed the app! It goes to the splash screen then dies! As discovered recently, when adding 2 new cards to the account they both defaulted to USD, no options while adding the cards, it was just straight to USD (if you then make an instant purchase they charge your bank/card in dollars, this then is subject to their unfavourable exchange rate, with a potential handling fee!). All caused by their error, you then have to delve into your account to find this setting
