TraceNook is a simple home inventory app that tracks how many you have left and when things expire. See what's running low or expiring soon at a glance, or turn on a daily reminder so nothing slips by. You can also record where things are kept and find them by name.
It's free to start, with no ads and no account. Take a photo of a package and TraceNook reads the product name and expiration date for you. Unlimited, even on the free plan.
GREAT IF YOU…
• Buy plastic wrap or detergent when you already have some
• Reach for medicine or emergency food and find it already expired
• Only notice you've run out when you need it
• Search the whole house for something you know you have
• Want to know what's in a storage bin without opening it
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Quantity and expiration: see what's running low or expiring soon in one list. Different expiration dates for the same item can be recorded separately
• Reminders: an optional once-a-day summary of expired, expiring, and low-stock items (turn it on in Settings)
• Locations: nest locations as deep as you need, like Hallway > Cabinet > Top shelf > Blue box. You can also save an item first and choose a location later
• Search by name: finds items even with small typos
• Less typing: take a photo of the package to fill in the product name and printed date. Recognition runs on your phone and is unlimited on the free plan
• Everyday presets: pick from 500+ items like tissues and detergent, with name, category, and unit already filled in
• QR labels: put a TraceNook QR label on a box and scan it to open that box's list
• Family sharing: on the same Wi-Fi, phones sync directly. Away from it, open the app and your changes travel end-to-end encrypted through a relay server, which deletes them once delivered (first pairing and photo sync need the same Wi-Fi).
• Bulk entry from a computer: add many items at once from a web browser on the same Wi-Fi
• Backup: export an encrypted backup file and restore it whenever you need, or back up automatically to your own Google Drive
PRICING
• Free: up to 50 items in your personal space, plus up to 30 more from reward tasks and chests, and 20 more after your first Google Drive auto-backup (up to 100 in total). No ads
• Pro (one-time purchase): unlimited items
• Max (one-time purchase): create a shared family space
• Joining a family space is free
Pro and Max are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.
Your records and photos are stored on your device. When you sync away from home, only encrypted data passes through the relay server, and TraceNook can't read it. It is deleted once delivered, or within 7 days if it can't be.
