About this app

Roadie is a road trip planner for everyone who travels by car, camper or RV. Plan a route with as many stops as you like, see the driving time for every leg, and find the campsites and places worth stopping for along the way.

Plan multi-stop routes
Build your itinerary on an interactive map and add as many stops as you want. Every leg of the route shows its distance and driving time, so you know how long each day on the road really takes.

Break the trip into sections
Group your stops into sections — by week, by region, by whatever makes sense for your trip. Then set how each leg is routed: prefer ferries, avoid highways, avoid toll roads, or give the route a date to plan around.

Choose the road yourself
Don’t just connect the dots. Drop a waypoint on any leg to lead the route along the coastal road you actually want to drive, without adding another stop to your itinerary.

Plan what you’ll do, not just where you’ll drive
Add highlights to any stop — the viewpoint, the bakery, the hike someone told you about. Each one can sit on the map in its own right, or be nothing more than a note. Highlights belong to the stop rather than the route, so adding them never changes your driving.

Keep a trip journal
Every route doubles as a travel diary. Give a stop its arrival date, or a date range with the nights you’re staying, then add times, notes and photos. Open the Trip Journal to read the whole trip end to end, highlights and all.

Discover ready-made road trips
Browse curated road trips by region and copy any of them into your account with one tap. Drive it as it is, or make it your own.

Collect places in lists
Star the places you don’t want to forget and sort them into lists — “Hot springs”, “Coffee stops”, “Next summer”. Give each list a cover photo, and share a whole list with the people you’re travelling with.

Find campsites and places along the route
Search by category for campsites, restaurants, gas stations, EV chargers, national parks, hiking areas, rest areas and more — right where you’re looking on the map. Tap any place on the map to add it to your route or your saved places.

Plan it together
Invite friends and family to a route or to your place lists. Everyone sees the same map and every change as it happens.

Navigate, and read it offline
Start navigation to your next stop in Google Maps, Waze or Sygic. Out of signal? Your routes stay readable offline.

Built for tablets
On a tablet, map and itinerary sit side by side. Dark mode included.

Import and export GPX
Open a GPX file from your downloads or a share sheet and it becomes a Roadie route. Export any route as GPX — stops, sections, highlights and notes all travel with it — or open it as a web page for someone who doesn’t have the app.

Roadie is free to use
The free plan includes 2 routes with up to 30 stops each, 10 starred places, 1 place list and the first search category. Adding highlights to your stops is free, however many you add.

Roadie Premium lifts every limit and unlocks notes and photos on stops, places and highlights, planning together, duplicating routes, and GPX import and export. Premium search also covers every category and draws on a richer place database, so results come back with better names, addresses and ratings.

Premium is what keeps Roadie going — we’re a team of two, with no ads and no selling your data.

I've been using the Roadie app for years. I've probably planned a dozen road trips with it. I love it. Or at least I used to. It took a step back in the latest update. They've added unnecessary extra steps and clicks to create, edit and regroup routes, which seem counterintuitive compared to what it used to be like. The 'notes' box is obscured by the keyboard now, so I can't see what I'm typing. Is there any way to uninstall the update and go back to how it used to be?

Thank you for your review and your feedback. We are working on a redesign that should make reordering stops easier again, however it will take some time to implement. We'll also have a look into the notes field issue. Sorry for the inconveniences.

I so wanted to rate this app higher, but it misses too many basic requirements such as.- Only a title and a note field for each stop. No place to add a URL other than nine the notes (which then can't be clicked unless you edit the notes.) No method to export or print itinerary. Can't enter lat,lon Co ords as stop. Mapping misses some ferry routes and there is no work around when planning (harwich to hook of holland) Smart insert is very unreliable A Web interface would also be useful.

Hi Dave, we are just about to fix the issue that you cannot click on the link. You can export and print the itinerary. You find the option on the route settings. You can also copy the lat and lngs of a place into the search. Also look into our help to find more info to adjust your route and how to find the features you are missing.

Good,so far, but not complete. Needs a more intuitive interface, directions, links to campsites, shops etc. This is exactly what G maps is missing the ability to plot a route. However if you use this then ask maps for directions it doesn't follow the waypoints as planned. Works on France as well. I have only put 3 stars so I can u/G in future. Would happily pay when it's a 100% product.
