The Walking Dead: Aftermath

Initially rated 4 stars in the first week of playing, but then It got repetitive, boring, time consuming and potentially expensive real quick. it's nothing more than a walking dead skin of a zombie wave shooter, which is plentiful in the market. Gaining energy is slow, upgrades clean out your resources, and character drop rates are a complete fiddle. There's way too little to do in the game, you're just waiting on energy re fills for the next same old wave shooting stage.

This game has way too many in game adverts/purchases. As soon as you load up you get two screens for in game purchases and pretty much everywhere in the game has in app purchases. I paid £9.99 for a month of 'premium' but isn't really premium, you get a few perks and it expires after 30 days. If I'm honest, the base free game should be like this. Is it fun to play? yes, the core game is fun and has lots of potential. But it is a MAJOR grind without any of the in-game purchases. 2/5

Its great at the start, especially if you are a fan of TWD. After few days you realise its just another grindy copy of Archero type games. Biggest downside is the hero pull system that gives you nothing but least meaningful character 95% of the time. Free stuff from battle passes, dailies etc is scarce and gives you almost no edge in anything. And if you decide to buy overpriced packs, they will help you complete a level, maybe two and back to hellish grind or spending more money. Too bad really
