About this app

Gravl is an AI personal trainer for strength training. It builds your plan, coaches you through every set, and tells you exactly how much weight to lift next time.

AUTOMATIC PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD
Gravl estimates your one-rep max from your logged history and prescribes the next session from it. Reps climb set by set; when the ladder fills, the weight steps up, snapped to the plates or stack you actually have. Rate a set Easy or Hard and the next prescription adjusts.

TRAIN ON YOUR WRIST, WITHOUT YOUR PHONE
A standalone Wear OS app. Log sets and reps, run rest timers, and finish a whole session from the watch. Syncs with Health Connect, Garmin and Strava.
Glance at your Strength Score and weekly progress — recovery, workouts, and streak — right from Wear OS Tiles.

STRENGTH SCORE
See how your lifts compare against standards for your body weight and sex, tracked over time across every muscle group.

BUILT AROUND YOUR GYM, NOT A GENERIC TEMPLATE
Gravl accounts for the equipment you own, which muscles are still recovering, what you trained last session, and which lifts you've neglected. 300+ trainer-led exercise videos, downloadable for offline use.

Free to start. Full training plans, the Wear OS app and analytics on Gravl Premium.

I just started using this app and think it is brilliant. I like how easy it is to swap routines out and the feature which shows when you should take a rest day, with how much your muscles have recovered. Suggestions, it would be handy if this app could link up with nutricheck, although understand that would be quite hard. Also it would be nice to have a public social section to be able to make and add friends and not rely on inviting real life friends, as I have no friends serious about gym.

Switched to Gravl from one of the big-name apps and haven’t looked back. Workout plans are actually well thought out, with better exercise variations than most. The UI is clean and easy to use, especially mid-workout. I’ve seen complaints about it being paid, but you’re getting solid programming, tracking, and something that’s actively improving. It’s also cheaper than a lot of alternatives.

I paid for the app and while it has a lot of good features, I have to say I'm not that impressed with the overall stability. The app randomly flips between kg and lb despite being set by me, and it ignores my request to apply various settings including Reps Progression and the level of Workout Variations. It also sometimes fails to show previous personal bests, tells you you break records when you don't, and generally acts buggy in relation to these basic features. Probably won't renew.

What’s new

• Wear OS: the rest timer on your phone no longer stops when you look at your watch.
• Supersets are kept when you save a workout.
