About this game

Welcome back to Vice City. Welcome back to the 1980s.

From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile. Vice City, a huge urban sprawl ranging from the beach to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, was one of the most varied, complete and alive digital cities ever created. Combining open-world gameplay with a character driven narrative, you arrive in a town brimming with delights and degradation and given the opportunity to take it over as you choose.

To celebrate its 10 year anniversary, Rockstar Games brings Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to mobile devices with high-resolution graphics, updated controls and a host of new features including:

• Beautifully updated graphics, character models and lighting effects
• New, precisely tailored firing and targeting options
• Custom controls with a fully customizable layout
• Massive campaign with countless hours of gameplay
• Compatible with the MoGa Wireless Game Controller and select USB gamepads
• Integrated with Immersion tactile effects
• Tailor your visual experience with adjustable graphic settings

I play GTA 5 on the PC so I can confirm this looks and feels dated. But this sits in my pocket and is ready to play without starting up the computer, connecting controllers and downloading endless updates. The controls are clunky, but I think they always were, even back in the day. Puts a smile on my face and that makes it worth the £4.99 for me. And did I mention the music? Wish all games featured songs like this!

I paid money... for this? It looks great and plays okay but it keeps crashing in the middle of missions losing the progress. Pointless and a waste of money. Plus the graphics can't keep up with the speed of the car so cars on the road ahead suddenly appear out of nowhere. I'm on an S22 Ultra, I'd expect it to run smoothly without crashes. Waste of money. Edit: Tried again in Nov 23. Ran well. 24/12/23 - App won't even load following an update "there is a bug" says the pop up. Useless.

amazing playing an old favourite, and great value for money. but 100% completion not possible on android. Two things I don't think are possible: unique jumps and the fire engine side mission. I just don't think it's possible with the refuced functionality on controls. I got my old ps3 out to see if it was me and was able to do jumps no problem. I like aiming for 100% completion and if I can't achieve this my motivation to play is less.
