About this app

Read the time the way you say it.

Instead of digits, WorldWordTime spells the time out on your wrist:

half past ten
quarter past nine
twenty five to eleven
eleven o'clock

It updates every five minutes, the way people actually round the time when they speak.

TWO LAYOUTS

Two lines - the phrase centred on two lines, so the composition stays balanced whether the time reads "one o'clock" or "twenty five past twelve".

Arc - a tick dial with a pointer tracking the minute, and the phrase set as a stack with each line in its own ink.

EIGHT PRESETS

Classic, Gold Night, Spectrum Arc, Handwritten, Typewriter, Sunset Script, Forest Dial and Clean Slate. Each one sets the layout, the typeface, the colours, the background, the label and both complications in a single tap - useful on a screen where working through six menus is a chore. Nothing is locked behind a preset: every setting stays yours to change afterwards.

MAKE IT YOURS

Twelve typefaces, from a quiet serif to a bold condensed to a handwritten script: Sans, Serif, Monospace, Condensed, Pacifico, Anton, Courier Prime, Caveat, Playfair, Josefin, Orbitron and Bitter.

Six colour palettes and eight backgrounds, all designed as deep gradients so the text stays legible on every combination. Every pairing has been measured for contrast - none of them leaves you squinting at your wrist in daylight.

The phrase sits centred or lateral, whichever suits the face.

The Arc dial is yours too: plain ticks, ticks with quarter numerals, or no dial at all, drawn in the spectrum gradient or in your own theme colour.

An optional label sits above the phrase: IT'S, NOW, TIME, or nothing at all.

Everything is changed from the watch itself, in the standard watch face editor. Press and hold the face, tap Customise, and pick.

COMPLICATIONS

Two slots below the phrase, set to day-and-date and watch battery to begin with. Put any data source your watch offers in either one - steps, weather, your next event - and tap it to open the app behind it. Clear them both and the face is the phrase alone.

ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY

In ambient mode the face drops the gradient, the dial and the complications, and shows dimmed text on pure black. Fewer lit pixels means less battery drawn and less risk of burn-in on OLED displays.

PRIVACY

The watch face collects nothing. It has no internet permission, no analytics, no ads and no trackers - there is no code in it at all, by design. Your settings never leave your watch.

REQUIREMENTS

Wear OS 5 or later. Presets use Watch Face Format 2, which arrives with Wear OS 5.
The time in words on your wrist. Twelve fonts, eight presets, no tracking.
