I don't know what you've done with the app (although I suspect some vibe coding) but it has become markedly worse for the latest update. Yes it may look slightly nicer, but getting it to connect to the yoto and then, once I finally do, getting it to control the volume, has become much more finicky and unreliable. The volume control itself doesn't seem to work anymore and I have to drag both the yoto player and my phone closer to the router to get it to have a chance of starting to play a track

Sorry to hear that Dan but the refreshed app has only been a UX update with no underlying changes. If the problem rectifies itself by moving closer to the router that would suggest the player was too far away. If you continue to have any issues please contact us at hello@yotoplay.com for assistance.

My daughter loves her Yoto when it actually works. Despite being connected to WiFi and having strong signal at home, when she puts a card in it hardly ever plays and I have to go through the process of restarting the box, and deleting and adding a "new" WiFi network. It makes the whole thing completely pointless if she can't independently operate it, I might as well just buy her a radio. Can't they just invent an offline device to stick cards in? It's such a good idea but it is so disappointing.

Sorry to hear that Sam. That doesn't sound right at all, it might indicate a fault with your player or a problem between the player and the network. Please contact us at hello@yotoplay.com for some tailored assistance so we can help you to get the best out of your player.

when tapping a card to the phone, the app keeps reading it over and over instead of just once, making the user experience a bit frustrating. Please fix this so it doesn't constantly read the card and just does it once. Edit - to be clear. I am placing the card to the phone. Typical RFID/NFC apps will register a hit and stop "scanning" for another tag. The yoto app doesn't. It will keep pinging for as long as the card is next the phone. Try it for yourself. You have to remove the card super fast
