About this game

Wizardry Variants Daphne carries on the lineage of the classic RPG series, Wizardry. The portal to the labyrinth of despair, where even destruction is pleasure, has opened once again.

■ Story
Once every 100 years, the Abyss opens.

It is a curse of death that consumes the continent. A Warlock who coveted Death, devoured people and animals and enveloped the world in despair.

Inheriting the power to seal the Abyss over generations, kings have continued to protect the kingdom from its curse.

But now, the king has vanished, and the world is being consumed by death, moment by moment.

Resistance itself is meaningless.
There is naught but to perish.

Game is pretty fun- not very generous with rewards for gacha though, at all. Exploration is decent but busy and tedious, combat is great and the designs are pretty nice, although there's a lot of generic male ones. Races are distinct and classes are distinctive too. Hard to get new equipment but the feel of upgrades is good as you improve.

I tried the game out on a whim on pc, felt oddly intrigued by the world and it's story probably due to its presentation. the whole first person 3D dungeon crawler main character is unique to me. the story quality and gameplay is outrageously better than I expected. very challenging though. it's an extremely good game and worth a shot for anyone a fan of similar dungeon crawler games.

I really want to like this game. but it's far too punishing despite being difficult. you need to be constantly grinding throughout even the early story to not get suddenly wiped by a story boss. at least in all the stages of the first dungeon my tanky frontlines could be killed in 2 hits. the worst mechanic by far is ambushes though; at a chance the enemy group gets a free turn over you; this is basically a guaranteed death in later floors. 5 enemies? that's ten attacks on the first turn.
