Nice hardware but app is mixed. We're lucky not to be impacted by the 2.4ghz restriction, but the app still leaves a lot to be desired. Navigation feels slow and somewhat unintuitive. Manual tagging is very frustrating - always suggests the same birds from the other side of the Atlantic, can't enter mammals other than the preconfigured ones. Lots of false positives motion detection with no log l living things. Notifications feel clumsy so have silenced for now and review on a daily basis.

Generally good, but unlike merlin doesn't limit what its looking for by what may be in your location (or continent). I get a lot of American birds landing in England. Update: this appeared to have got better, and I didn't get anything but British birds for months. But now my garden is full of unfamiliar looking fledglings, it's gone haywire again. I get that ai may not get a young bird but a bird flying across the Atlantic is highly unlikely

It's great to watch the feeders from your phone, but subs are needed to make the most of it. The "Birdfy Bird Recognition" is monthly/lifetime, and processes the videos in the cloud to identify the bird/squirrel. We've moved the camera away from the feeders to get a better view, so it probably works 20% of the time, but is pretty accurate. Then, you can only filter alerts with a (monthly) "AI Essentials" sub (i.e. only get notified when a bird's identified.) Overall highly recommended though.
