About this app

Azivane is a compass for your Wear OS watch. Open it and the dial turns as you turn: your heading in large numbers in the center, its direction below, and a fixed pointer at the top.

The compass
- A clear dial that glides as you turn: a tick every 2 degrees, numbers every 30, and N, E, S and W with the points in between.
- Haptic ticks: a light tick at each 30-degree mark and a firmer click at north.
- Bearing lock: tap the screen to lock the way you face. Azivane marks it on the dial, shows how many degrees to turn left or right, and gives a double click when you are back on it. Tap again to clear it. It is remembered.
- While you use it, the screen stays on up to 30 seconds past your watch's normal timeout.
- If the sensor needs calibrating, Azivane asks you to move your wrist in a figure 8.

On your watch face
- Add the Compass heading complication (any slot that takes short text or a ranged value). It shows your heading and its direction, for example 304° and NW. Tap it to open the compass.
- Live heading keeps it up to date as you turn. The sensor runs only while the screen is on; when it dims, the complication keeps the last heading.
- Live heading runs whenever Azivane's notifications are allowed (the first-run Live heading page explains this and asks for them if needed). While it runs, a silent "Live heading is on" notification stays in your notification list; a tap opens Azivane's settings. Nothing else is added to your watch face.
- Without notifications, live heading stops: the complication shows the last heading read, marked LAST. Allow them again in Azivane's settings.
- To stop live heading, open Azivane's settings (the gear at the bottom of the compass), tap "Live heading on watch face" and turn off its notifications, or uninstall Azivane.

True north or magnetic north
- With location allowed, Azivane points to true north. It uses your approximate location, only on the watch, to correct for magnetic declination and to work out the Qibla and, with Pro, the sun and moon.
- Without a location, it shows magnetic north and labels it as magnetic.
- Azivane explains what location is for before it asks. You can say no, still use the compass, and allow it later in settings.

Qibla
- Turn it on in Settings > Qibla: a green mark on the dial shows the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca, its bearing shows under your heading, and FACING QIBLA appears when you face it.
- It follows the shortest way around the globe from your location. No purchase needed.

Azivane Pro (one-time purchase)
Everything above stays included. Pro adds:
- Qibla complication: while live heading runs, an arrow and the degrees to turn; otherwise the Qibla's bearing.
- Qibla buzz: a soft buzz in the compass when you turn to face it.
- Compass tile: your last heading and when it was read, your locked bearing, the Qibla and the next sunrise or sunset. The tile is not live.
- Sun and moon: marks on the dial, today's rise and set times with bearings, and the moon's phase.
- Saved bearings: name a locked bearing (Car, Camp or another name), use it again later, and get its back-bearing in one tap.
- Night dial: the compass in red on black, always or from sunset to sunrise.
Pay once in Google Play on your phone. No subscription. Pro keeps working offline, and Settings > Restore purchase brings it back on the same Google account.

Private by design
- No internet permission. Azivane works offline; Google Play handles buying and restoring Pro.
- Your location never leaves the watch.
- No account to create, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.

Good to know
- Needs a watch with Wear OS 3 or later and a compass sensor. No phone app is needed.
- Accuracy depends on your watch's sensor; magnets, metal and electronics nearby can pull it off.
- Azivane is a compass, not a map or GPS app.

The name joins azimuth, the angle a compass reads, and vane, as in a weather vane.
