edit: they've finally fixed the overheating issue, so updating my review. there's still a few bugs here and there so can't give it the full 5 stars, but at least it doesn't set my phone on fire any more. (I love the games themselves but there's something very wrong with the app in terms of power usage (especially playing Crossword). My phone gets uncomfortably hot and battery drain is over 50% per hour.)

Connections can be amazing. It's good when it's common language but too often you need to be familiar with US brands, themes and common knowledge (like airports, states and football teams) that it's nigh impossible to get if you're not from the states. I get it's from the NYT, but if they could just flag the ones with american terminology for the rest of the world, so we don't wreck our stats trying to figure out US housing style names.

Update: I just finished my first crossword in 0:00!! Thought that was impossible but all it took was a buggy app. Please fix! -- The app itself has gotten pretty ok but it has been bugging out and making my times ridiculously short if I don't finish it in one go. Feels like cheating. The crossword quality has gone downhill over the past years. The archive goes back pretty far and that's where there is gold.
